Cardi B has sent Playboy's revenue through the roof, whose parent company is the PLBY Group, mostly due to the centerfold platform she spearheaded at the company, according to All Hip Hop.
Cardi B has been credited for the company’s resurgence and financial gain. As Blavity previously reported, the “I Like It” rapper made history when she was named Playboy magazine’s first creative director in residence in December. A press release obtained by People said that in the role, the 29-year-old would “provide artistic direction across co-branded fashion and sexual wellness merchandise collections, digital editorial, experiential activations, and more.”
Cardi B is using her own personal platform to reach a new audience for Playboy. According to All Hip Hop, the rapper took to social media to promote a Playboy clothing collection. She tweeted a video of her showing off Playboy branded apparel. The post has since garnered over 1.6 million views. She shared the same video on TikTok, which has now racked up more than 2 million views.
